Privacy Policy
The short version: I collect only what I need to run the site, answer you, and deliver what you buy. I don't sell your data.
Effective September 29, 2026
This policy covers therunbookblog.com, operated by Christopher M. Crum, doing business as The Runbook Blog ("I", "me"). Questions: hello@therunbookblog.com.
What I collect
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe. It's stored with my email provider, Sender (sender.net). Signup forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam signups; reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Booking a call: your name, email, and the answers you give when booking through Microsoft Bookings. These are stored in my Microsoft 365 tenant.
- Scoping questionnaire: the details you submit about your business and environment, processed by Formspree and delivered to my inbox.
- Payments: consulting invoices and digital products are both paid through Stripe. Card and bank details go directly to Stripe. I never see or store your full card number.
- Email you send me: whatever you choose to include.
What I don't do
- I don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- I don't use advertising trackers or retargeting pixels.
- I never ask for your passwords. Client access for projects is set up with dedicated, removable admin accounts.
Cookies and local storage
The site stores your light/dark theme choice and your checklist progress in your browser's local storage. That data never leaves your device. Affiliate links on the Tools page may set cookies from the partner's site after you click through, so the partner can credit the referral.
How I use your information
To send the newsletter you asked for, schedule and prepare for calls, deliver purchases and project work, send invoices, and reply to you. Client environment details are used only for your project and are kept confidential.
How long I keep it
Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Booking, questionnaire, and project records are kept as long as needed for the work and for tax and legal record-keeping. After that they're deleted.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from any newsletter email in one click. Email me to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and I'll respond within 30 days.
