Terms of Service
Plain-language terms for the free content, the paid kits, and consulting work.
Effective September 23, 2026
These terms apply to therunbookblog.com and services offered by Christopher M. Crum, doing business as The Runbook Blog ("I", "me"). By using the site or buying anything here, you agree to them.
Free content
Runbooks and checklists are provided for general information, based on real environments. They are provided "as is", without warranty. Every environment is different: test changes in a pilot group or lab first, keep backups, and follow your change process. You're responsible for changes made in your own systems.
Paid resources (kits)
- License: a purchase gives one person or one company a license to use the kit internally and with their own clients. You may adapt it freely. You may not resell, republish, or share the files publicly.
- Delivery: download links appear immediately after checkout and stay valid for 30 days. Email me if you lose access.
- No refunds: kits are delivered instantly as downloads, so all sales are final. If a file is damaged or won't open, email me and I'll send a working copy.
Consulting services
- Remote only. All work is performed remotely. No on-site visits are provided.
- Free fit call. It's 15 minutes, with no obligation.
- Scoping session ($200). It's paid in advance and includes a written plan and a fixed-price quote. The full fee is credited to a project approved within 30 days of the session. The fee is non-refundable. You can reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice. Sessions missed without notice are forfeited.
- Projects. Scope, price, and payment schedule are set in a written quote or statement of work, which governs the engagement. Work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately and only done with your written approval. Ongoing or ad-hoc work is billed at $200/hour.
- No refunds. Payments for consulting, scoping sessions, deposits, and project work are non-refundable.
- Access. You grant access through accounts you control, and that access is removed at project end. You're responsible for maintaining your own backups and licensing.
- Confidentiality. Information about your business and environment is kept confidential and used only for your project.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, my total liability for any claim relating to the site, a kit, or a project is limited to the amount you paid for that item or project. I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio.
